The 2026 European Championship brings the continent’s flagship festival event to the trails of Trentino, Italy. With Lake Molveno at its heart and the Brenta Dolomites rising overhead, the event invites athletes from across Europe and beyond to compete, connect and celebrate in one of the sport’s most breathtaking destinations, with titles awarded to the continent’s best off-road triathletes across the Elite, Age Group and Youth divisions.
Full Distance Triathlon
The Full Distance Triathlon begins with a swim in the clear waters of Lake Molveno, followed by a rewarding ride that combines steady power climbs with flowing descents through the Paganella Bike Park. A scenic yet challenging run through lakeside paths and forested switchbacks brings athletes to the finish line in one of Europe’s most iconic alpine race settings, where European titles across all age divisions will be decided.
Sprint Triathlon
The Sprint Triathlon is open to all athletes looking to experience XTERRA in one of the most scenic venues on the European calendar. With a shorter course that mirrors the Full Distance terrain, it offers a taste of the same climbs, descents and views that define off-road racing in Trentino. For Youth B and Junior athletes representing the region, the race carries even greater meaning as it serves as the 2026 XTERRA European Youth Championship.
Super Sprint Triathlon
The Super Sprint Triathlon is the shortest distance on offer and a perfect entry point for young athletes looking to experience XTERRA in a welcoming and inspiring setting. With a condensed course that still captures the beauty of Molveno’s alpine terrain, it’s designed to be challenging without overwhelming. For Youth A athletes aged 14–15 representing the region, the race will also crown the 2026 XTERRA European Youth Champions.
Short Track Triathlon
The now-iconic Short Track course in Molveno returns to the World Cup circuit, giving fans a front row seat to the fastest format in off-road triathlon. Tight racing, tactical decisions and constant lead changes deliver a bar-to-bar battle for points and progression, as the top 30 athletes in the sport go head-to-head on a course purpose-built for spectators.
