In 2025, the legendary Cursa de l'Alba rises to even greater heights as the official host of the XTERRA European Trail Run Championship, where the region’s top Half and Full Marathon runners will battle for age division titles. Set on the renowned trails of Montserrat Natural Park, this iconic event brings together athletes and adventurers in a celebration of endurance and nature amid one of Catalonia’s most breathtaking landscapes.
12K Trail Run
The MitjAlba is a race with a positive gradient of 600M+. The first two kilometres of the race take place along the streets of Collbató, before entering a stretch of road and stairs. From this point on, we enter a path into the Montserrat Natural Park, going around the massif in its middle section in a stretch of slight descent until approximately kilometre 3, where a tough climb begins up to Pla de San Miquel, the highest point of the route.
Trail Half Marathon
The Cursa de l'Alba is a battle against gravity, with a relentless climb through Montserrat’s legendary trails. The race begins in the streets of Collbató before launching into the rugged paths of Montserrat Natural Park. A fast and flowing section around the massif offers a chance to settle in before the real climbing begins toward Sant Jeroni. As the official XTERRA European Trail Half Marathon Championship, those who cross the finish line first in their age division will join the 2025 class of XTERRA Trail Run Champions.
Trail Marathon
The Maratón de Montserrat is a true endurance test, featuring a demanding elevation profile across Montserrat’s most iconic trails. The race begins in the streets of Collbató before ascending into the massif toward Coll de Can Rubió. Runners will take in sweeping views from Mirador de les Roques Blaves before tackling the punishing climb to Capbrot de Rubió. As the XTERRA European Trail Marathon Championship, those who conquer the course first in their age division will cement their place among the 2025 XTERRA Trail Run Champions.
