ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE®
When IRONMAN was conceived by John and Judy Collins in 1978, it combined three of Hawaii's most challenging endurance events—a feat that seemed impossible. From these humble beginnings, IRONMAN has grown into a global phenomenon, attracting dreamers and athletes from around the world who push their physical limits and iron will to prove that Anything is Possible®.
Today, IRONMAN features the ultimate test of endurance: a 2.4-mile (3.8 km) swim, a 112-mile (180 km) bike ride, and a full marathon run of 26.2 miles (42.2 km), all completed in a single day. The IRONMAN 70.3 series offers a half-distance challenge, making the sport accessible to a wider range of athletes without sacrificing the spirit of competition and personal achievement.
With over 150 events across more than 50 countries, IRONMAN continues to unite a passionate community committed to resilience, strength, and camaraderie. From first-timers to elite professionals, every participant shares the same drive: to conquer the course and prove to themselves that they are capable of greatness.
