About Airwerks Cycles Workshop

Servicing at the Workshop.

The Airwerks Cycles workshop is in the shop on Al Wasl Road, Al Safa 1, and is geared up for anything that needs fixing on a road, gravel or mountain bike. It specialises in preparing bikes for road and triathlon racing, fine-tuned for tough and punishing conditions. Every service carries a 30-day warranty covering the work, the parts and the fitting of new parts.

What's on

General service: AED 200, 1 to 1.5 hours.
Deluxe service: AED 350, 1.5 to 3 hours.
Ultra service: AED 650, 4 hours or more.
Other repairs, quoted: from a brake adjustment to a full suspension service.
Group rides every Tuesday and Thursday at 7 pm.

The workshop is open with the shop, Monday to Saturday, 10:00 to 19:00.

Servicing

General service

AED 200 · 1 to 1.5 hours

Safety check, and the bike cleaned.
Drivetrain cleaned and degreased.
Front and rear derailleurs and brakes set up.
Headset adjusted.
Drivetrain, rims and tyres, cables and housing, and bottom bracket inspected.
Wheels trued on the bike, and tyres pumped to the right pressure.
Every torque spec checked.

AED 350 · 1.5 to 3 hours

Everything in the General service, plus:

Wheels trued in the truing stand.
Hubs and bottom bracket adjusted.
Cables and housing lubricated.
Derailleur hanger checked and adjusted.

Everything in the Deluxe service, plus a full strip-down:

Every part taken off the frame, cleaned, degreased and rebuilt.
Hubs and headset overhauled; bearings are charged separately.
Gear and brake cables replaced.

Road and triathlon bikes, tuned for race day

The workshop specialises in preparing bikes for road and triathlon racing, and in fine-tuning them to get the most out of them in tough, punishing conditions.

Rides

Tuesday and Thursday rides

7 pm at the NAS cycling track

Group rides every Tuesday and Thursday at 7 pm: five laps at tempo on the NAS cycling track, getting faster lap by lap.

Lap 1: 32 to 34 km/h.
Laps 2 to 4: 35 to 37 km/h.
Lap 5: 38 km/h and up.

Meet next to Joe & The Juice, near the exit from the car park. Ask the shop for details before your first ride.

The racing team

AYAT Airwerks Racing Team

For riders who want to race, the shop's own team races road, mountain bike, gravel, criterium and desert races across the UAE, with men's, women's and Emirati teams.
